Pope John Tackle Seamus Ryan Commits to Marist
February 8, 2013

Signing day is a special day for many college bound high school football players. It is a day where family,
friends and coaches share in the excitement of them commiting to the university or college where they will
take their football careers to the next level.

To Seamus Ryan of Pope John XXIII, that was no exception. With his parents and head coach by his side,
Seamus signed his letter of commitment to Marist College of  Poughkeepsie, NY.

“He was a true captain on our conference championship team and provided great leadership on and off the field.
All of us at Pope John are happy for Seamus and his family, we wish him nothing but success at Marist” said
head coach  Brian Carlson when asked about what Seamus meant to the program.

Seamus completed his 2012 high school football season as a senior captain that helped lead the Lions to a 7-2
regular season record, NJAC Championship and rebirth to the State playoffs while receiving honors of:

- 1st Team All conference

- 1st Team NJ Herald

- 1st Team All West Jersey Star Ledger

- 3rd Team All State Non Public  Star Ledger

The family at Pope JohnXXIII wish him well and continued success at Marist College this summer both

on the grid iron and in the classroom.
